PM on Bullet Train from Dalian to Beijing

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has departed for Beijing after attending the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Dalian, China.

He set off for Beijing by bullet train on Wednesday afternoon (June 24). He is accompanied on the journey by his spouse, Dr. Zubaida Rahman.

The main itinerary of the Prime Minister’s bilateral visit will commence upon his arrival in Beijing. He is scheduled to hold crucial meetings with Chinese Premier Li Qiang and President Xi Jinping on June 25 and 26.

Earlier on Wednesday (June 24) at 10:00 AM local time, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman attended the World Economic Forum’s "Annual Meeting of the New Champions," popularly known as the Summer Davos, held at the Dalian International Conference Center.

Alongside the Bangladeshi Prime Minister, the heads of government from Guinea, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Mongolia, and Montenegro also participated in the 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions.

The summit brought together over 1,700 leaders and representatives from politics, business, academia, and media representing more than 90 countries and regions worldwide.

Bangladesh’s participation in this World Economic Forum event is expected to open up new opportunities for investment and employment, while allowing the nation to enhance its capabilities by leveraging the experiences of other countries.
