In a bid to bring services directly to the doorsteps of Chinese entrepreneurs and streamline bilateral trade, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has announced that Bangladesh will soon open its first-ever 'Investment Office' in China.
He made the announcement on Thursday (June 25) during his address at the Bangladesh Investment Forum held in Beijing.
The Prime Minister stated that Bangladesh is now fully open and ready for global business.
To attract foreign investment, his government is already implementing a rigorous 180-day action plan designed to eliminate bureaucratic hurdles. Moving forward, licenses for new businesses will be approved within just 15 days, he added.
The head of government also highlighted that infrastructure development is moving at a fast pace for Chinese investors, specifically pointing to the Special Economic Zone in Anwara, Chittagong, and the second zone in Mongla.
Highlighting exclusive policy benefits and incentives in sectors such as renewable energy, IT, advanced textiles, and pharmaceuticals, the Prime Minister assured that foreign investors will receive maximum priority regarding profit repatriation and legal safeguards.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman strongly urged Chinese companies to become partners in Bangladesh's next economic miracle.
