Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has announced that the country's local government elections will be held in accordance with traditional rules, with no party symbols being used in them.

He stated that necessary decisions in this regard will be finalized only after holding consultations with alliance partner parties.

He made these remarks while speaking to journalists on Monday, July 20, following a meeting with the coalition partners.

Mirza Fakhrul affirmed that, in alignment with electoral commitments, BNP’s 31-point framework and the signed July Charter will be implemented to the letter.

He further noted that the continuity of the joint movement against fascism, authoritarianism, and extremism will be maintained.

The local government minister stated that the Prime Minister has initiated the task of rebuilding the nation from a pile of rubble, and the government is actively working to fulfill that objective.
