No Plans to Increase Gas Prices at Present: Petrobangla

The government currently has no plans to hike gas prices, the Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation (Petrobangla) has stated.

The organization made this clarification in the wake of reports regarding a potential gas price increase published in various media outlets recently.

In a press release issued on Saturday night (August 1), Petrobangla stated,

"In light of reports published in various media regarding a hike in gas prices, it is being clarified that the government has no plans to increase gas prices at this moment."

The agency urged everyone concerned not to be confused by the matter.

Earlier, news reports regarding the possibility of a gas price hike had sparked concern among industrial, commercial, and residential consumers.

However, with this latest statement, Petrobangla has clarified that there is currently no decision or plan by the government to raise gas prices.
