President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir reached Thakurgaon during the afternoon hours of Sunday to embark upon a two-day itinerary, marking his inaugural excursion to his native district subsequent to taking office.

An aircraft ferrying the President descended at the Thakurgaon Mohammad Ali Stadium precisely at 1 pm.

Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam, Thakurgaon Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rafiqul Huq, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Rangpur Range) Mohammad Abdul Mabud, Superintendent of Police Md Belal Hossain, Thakurgaon district BNP President Mirza Faisal Amin, and General Secretary Paigam Ali greeted the President upon his arrival at the helipad.

Citizens’ Committee Convener Dr Abu Mohammad Khairul Kabir alongside Secretary General Dr Shahiduzzaman participated in the reception party as well.

Subsequently, a detachment representing the Bangladesh Police delivered a guard of honor to the President at the Thakurgaon Circuit House.

Following his review of the guard of honor, President Mirza Fakhrul is programmed to proceed toward the Senua graveyard to render homage to his parents.

At a later hour, he will inspect his dwelling located within Thakurgaon town.

During the initial phase of his tour, the President is slated to participate in a public reception organized in his tribute at the Thakurgaon Government Boys’ High School playground commencing at 3:30 pm.

He will take part in a consultation assembly alongside regional leaders and notables during the evening.

Throughout the subsequent day falling on Monday, President Mirza Fakhrul will inaugurate the cornerstone laying ceremony for Thakurgaon University.
