Khaleda Zia taken to the hospital again
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has been taken to Evercare Hospital in the capital for health check-up.
She was taken to the hospital from her Gulshan-2 residence Firoza on Wednesday evening (May 1). BNP Chairperson's press wing member, Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to the reporters.
Earlier on March 30, Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital. Doctors examined his health by keeping him in the CCU of Evercare Hospital. She returned home from the hospital on April 2.

Supreme Court Upholds Dismissal of Tarek Rahman’s Four Extortion Cases
The Appellate Division has upheld the High Court's decision to dismiss four extortion cases against BNP's acting chairman, Tarek Rahman.
On Sunday, January 5, a four-judge bench led by Justice Md. Ashfaqul Islam dismissed the state's leave-to-appeal petition challenging the High Court's verdict.
Additional Attorney General Barrister Anik R. Haque represented the state during the hearing.
These cases were filed in 2007 under the military-backed caretaker government by various plaintiffs at Gulshan, Kafrul, Shahbagh, and Dhanmondi police stations. The validity of the cases was questioned under Section 561A of the Code of Criminal Procedure, leading to the High Court's intervention.
On October 23, a dual bench of Justices AKM Asaduzzaman and Syed Enayetur Rahim of the High Court had dismissed the four cases against Tarek Rahman. The state subsequently filed a leave-to-appeal, arguing that the High Court's verdict was incorrect.
Former BNP MP SA Khaleque Passes Away
Former Member of Parliament and former Vice President of undivided Dhaka Metropolitan BNP, SA Khaleque has passed away.
He breathed his last at United Hospital on Sunday (January 5) at 3:30 pm.
BNP Media Cell member, Shairul Kabir Khan, confirmed that SA Khaleque had been suffering from various illnesses for a long time. He was admitted to United Hospital urgently last Wednesday.
On Saturday (January 4) night, he was put on a ventilator, and he passed away on Sunday at the hospital.
According to the BNP Media Cell, his funeral prayers will be held on Monday (January 6) at 12 noon in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan and at 2:00 pm at the Mirpur Bangla College premises.
After the prayer, he will be buried in the family cemetery at Gabtoli Mirpur Shahi Mosque.
Khaleda Zia to be Taken Directly to London Clinic from Airport: Zahid
BNP's Standing Committee member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain has announced that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will depart for London on Tuesday night (January 7) for advanced medical treatment.
During a press conference held on Monday (January 6) at BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's political office in Gulshan, he shared this information.
Zahid Hossain stated that Khaleda Zia will travel to London via Doha on a "special air ambulance" sent by the Emir of Qatar. Upon arrival in London, she will be directly taken to a London clinic, where her subsequent treatment will be carried out based on the recommendations of the doctors there.
He further mentioned that the air ambulance carrying Khaleda Zia is scheduled to arrive at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 7:30 pm this evening. Along with her, the medical team and her younger son Arafat Rahman Koko's wife, Syeda Shamila Rahman, will accompany her to London.
Zahid Hossain also stated that upon her arrival at London Airport, Khaleda Zia will be received by her elder son, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, his wife Dr Zobaida Rahman, and two leaders from London BNP.
Tarique Rahman Convenes Permanent Committee Meeting Tonight
BNP's acting chairman, Tarique Rahman has called a meeting of the party's permanent committee to deliberate on future policies and strategies.
The meeting is scheduled to take place on Monday (6 January) at 8:30 pm at the party chairperson's office in Gulshan, with Tarique Rahman presiding virtually, confirmed BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan.
Sources within the party indicated that the meeting has been convened in preparation for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s upcoming medical travel. Key discussions on the party’s strategies and potential decisions are expected during the session.
In related developments, Khaleda Zia will be transported directly to an air ambulance for her departure. Party leaders and workers have been advised to avoid large gatherings during this time. It remains unclear if senior leaders will be present at the airport to bid her farewell.

In a post on social media platforms Facebook and X late Friday night (January 10), Bangladesh time, Tarique Rahman conveyed his appreciation.

Sharing a photo of his family standing beside his mother, Begum Khaleda Zia, who was seated in a wheelchair, Tarique Rahman wrote, "I am deeply grateful to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, for graciously providing transportation and logistics for my mother, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Begum Khaleda Zia."

It is noteworthy that former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia left Dhaka last Tuesday night (January 7) for the United Kingdom on an air ambulance provided by Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for advanced medical treatment. Donald Trump Invites Tarique Rahman to National Prayer Breakfast
Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Tarique Rahman, along with two senior party leaders, has been invited by newly elected US President Donald Trump to attend the upcoming National Prayer Breakfast.
The BNP's press wing confirmed the invitation on Friday, January 10. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury will accompany Tarique Rahman at the event. Mirza Fakhrul received the official invitation letter on Friday.
