A tragic head-on collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Ishwardi, Pabna, claimed the lives of four people, including a child. Two others sustained critical injuries.
The accident took place around 5:30 PM on Thursday (March 20) in front of Mullicka Agro Food on the Ishwardi-Dashuria highway in Baharpur. The identities of the deceased and injured have not yet been confirmed.
According to Shahidul Islam, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwardi Police Station, the bus was travelling towards Ishwardi when it collided head-on with the auto-rickshaw. The impact killed four people on the spot, while two others were critically injured and rushed to the hospital.
Following the incident, the bus driver and helper fled the scene, but authorities seized the vehicle, the OC added.
