
Two platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed at the Cargo Village area of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka to assist the firefighting units who are currently working to control the fire, confirmed by the BGB Public Relations Officer.
A fire broke out this afternoon in the affected area where the imported goods were stored.
Thirty one units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence are currently working to control the fire at the time this report was written.
Also, two fire units of the Bangladesh Air Force, the Bangladesh Navy and the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority are working to extinguish the fire, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Earlier, four firefighting units were immediately deployed and managed to bring the blaze under control after swift efforts.
A Dhaka-bound flight from Saudi Arabia was diverted to Osmani International Airport in Sylhet due to the fire.
