Rapid Action Battalion-11 (RAB) Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel HM Sajjad Hossain said that the investigation into Narayanganj's much-discussed murder of Tanvir Muhammad Tawki is at the final stage and the charge sheet of the case will be submitted to the court soon.
"The investigation into the Tawki murder case is at the final stage. After verifying all collected information and evidence, the charge sheet will be submitted soon," he said in a press conference at RAB Media Centre in Karwan Bazar on Saturday.
Tawki, an A-level student who had achieved the world’s highest marks in Chemistry and Physics, went missing on March 6 in 2013, from Narayanganj.
Police recovered his body from the Kumudini canal of the Shitalakshya River after two days.
Tawki’s father, Rafiur Rabbi, alleged that his son was abducted and murdered at the instruction of the then Member of Parliament Shamim Osman.
He claimed that Tawki was tortured and killed in a “torture cell” run by Shamim’s nephew, Azmeri Osman.
