Veteran Journalist Ali Mahmud Found Dead at Jatiya Press Club

Ali Mahmud, the City Editor of the daily Dinkal and a prominent member of the BNP Media Cell, was found dead on Tuesday morning at the Jatiya Press Club (JPC).

His body was recovered from a restroom at the club after the door was forced open around 9:00 am in the presence of his family members.

According to Md. Moniruzzaman, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahbagh Police Station, it is suspected that the veteran journalist passed away following a massive cardiac arrest.

The news has sent a wave of grief through the journalistic community. Ali Mahmud is survived by his wife, two sons, a daughter, and a large circle of relatives and colleagues.

Dhaka Journalists Union Vice-President Rashedul Haque confirmed that the body was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and would be handed over to his family shortly for the final rites.
