The Marishya Zone of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) held a community engagement meeting with local villagers on Thursday to discuss strategies for preventing illegal "push-ins" along the border in the Udaypur, Natunpara, and Kingkarpara areas of Baghaichhari upazila.

During the meeting held on Thursday morning, Lieutenant Colonel Jahidul Islam Jahid, Commander of the 27 BGB, emphasized the need for a collaborative approach to border security.

"At present, the problem of push-ins from the neighboring country into various parts of Bangladesh is ongoing. In this regard, the BGB and the local public must unite to resist it," he stated.

He further noted that safeguarding the border and protecting the nation's territory is an enormous task for the BGB to undertake alone, adding, "If the local people work together, it will be much easier to ensure border security and protect the country's territory."

Following the meeting, a medical camp was conducted under the leadership of Major Amit Kumar Saha, Medical Officer of the Marishya Zone.

During the event, the BGB provided financial assistance for medical treatment to more than 15 underprivileged individuals, along with the distribution of safe drinking water tanks.

Additionally, the BGB distributed sewing machines and corrugated iron (CI) sheets to members of the community to support their livelihoods.
