The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) successfully compelled the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) to take back 20 individuals—including women and children—who had been subjected to an attempted "push-in" at the Chouka border in Shibganj upazila, Chapainawabganj.

The repatriation occurred on Saturday morning following a flag meeting between the BGB and BSF, after which the individuals were returned to Indian custody.

According to BGB officials, following the meeting, the BSF escorted the group back into Indian territory from the zero line.

Currently, the border situation is reported to be completely calm and normal.

However, to prevent any untoward incidents, the BGB has intensified its patrols and intelligence surveillance in the border areas and the entire Chapainawabganj border remains under a state of maximum alert.

The incident began at approximately 6 am on Saturday when the BSF attempted to forcefully push 20 individuals into Bangladeshi territory through the Chouka border.

The group consisted of 11 women, 5 men, and 4 children.

This attempt was ultimately thwarted by the proactive measures and resistance of the BGB.

This event follows a series of similar attempts along the region's borders.

Previously, on June 13 and 15, the BSF attempted to push in groups through the Rokanpur border, and on June 4, a similar attempt was made at the Bangabari border.

In all these instances, totaling 28 individuals, the BSF’s attempts were successfully foiled by the BGB.
