Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) forces and local communities have successfully repelled a series of coordinated attempts by India's Border Security Force (BSF) to push individuals across the international border into Bangladeshi territory, with recent interceptions recorded across Lalmonirhat, Joypurhat, Sylhet and Sherpur.

The latest confrontations unfolded early Saturday morning.

In Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat, BSF personnel attached to the 98th Battalion's Khorkhoria camp attempted to drive three women through a gate in the border security fence near international pillar 833/9-S under the Dhabalsuti Border Outpost (BOP).

Alerted BGB patrols from the Tiesta Battalion (61 BGB) moved quickly to block the entry point.

Tiesta Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Syed Fazle Munim confirmed the intervention, stating, "We have contacted the corresponding BSF battalion commander and called for the immediate withdrawal of the individuals who were attempted to be pushed in."

The three women remain stranded roughly 150 yards inside Indian territory, while the BGB has deployed reinforced patrols and elevated security posture across the sector.

A simultaneous cross-border incident occurred on Saturday morning along the Bhutiyapara border at the Ramkrishnpur sub-pillar area 275/8-S in Joypurhat.

BSF units attempted to force an elderly man and two women across the boundary line at dawn.

Local villagers intercepted the group before they could disperse into the countryside, holding them in place and notifying the border guard.

A responding BGB patrol successfully neutralized the incursion attempt, leaving the three individuals contained in the no man's land between the two nations as BGB units intensify area surveillance.

These operations build on a pattern of heightened cross-border pressure earlier in the week.

On July 9, at approximately 4:30 am, BGB's 48th Battalion blocked a BSF attempt to push seven individuals through the Companiganj frontier in Sylhet.

Later that same night at midnight, border guards successfully turned back another push-in involving four individuals attempting entry near the Meghalaya border at Gomra village in Sherpur's Jhenaigati upazila.
