The 11th Ayurveda Day was celebrated at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) in Dhaka on Wednesday under the theme "Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow," assembling practitioners, scholars, students, and prominent cultural personalities.

The event incorporated an interactive workshop focused on Ayurveda and preventive healthcare, led by Dr Mohammad Mamun Mia, Principal of Nur-Majid Ayurvedic College, Prof Dr Babul Akter of Hamdard University and Dr Md Jakir Hossain of Nur-Majid Ayurvedic College.

High Commissioner of India Dinesh Trivedi emphasized Ayurveda as an integral component of the joint intellectual heritage of India and Bangladesh while highlighting potential avenues for expanded collaboration in traditional medicine, scientific research, and academic exchange.

Additionally, the gathering marked the unveiling of a wool tapestry illustrating Lord Ganesha, created by Bangladeshi artist Shahin Sobhana Surovi.

Renowned vocalist Ranjan Chandra Sarker delivered a classical music recital, providing a artistic element to the event that integrated themes of wellness, heritage, and tradition.

Students representing premier universities and research organizations specializing in Ayurveda and traditional health systems actively engaged in the observance.
