LPG operators today assured Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood that there was no shortage of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the country’s market.

The assurance came at a views exchange meeting organised by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division at the Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry here to review the country’s current LPG import volume, stock and supply situation, market prices and related issues, said a press release.

Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood presided over the meeting. The overall situation of the country’s LPG sector was presented and reviewed at the meeting.

According to data obtained from the National Board of Revenue (NBR), 157,760 tonnes of LPG were imported in August 2026, while 118,742 tonnes were imported in September 2026 up to September 22.

The data presented at the meeting showed that the country’s LPG supply and stock situation was satisfactory.

“Therefore, there is currently no shortage of LPG in the country,” LPG importers and operators told the meeting.

The minister urged all concerned to remain vigilant so that there is no disruption in supply to consumers despite adequate stocks of LPG, and no one could create public suffering by hoarding LPG with ill motives.

The LPG operators pledged full cooperation with the government to this end.

Iqbal Hassan heard about various obstacles faced by the operators in conducting their businesses and instructed the Energy and Mineral Resources Division to take steps to resolve those issues quickly.

He said the ministry will extend all possible cooperation to remove obstacles to LPG imports.
“The government will take all necessary measures to make people’s lives easier,” the minister assured the meeting.

He sought sincere cooperation from all concerned to keep the country’s energy situation normal.
