The results of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations have been published, with an average pass rate of 52.12% across the country’s 11 education boards.
Last year, the pass rate stood at 58.83%, marking a 6.71 percentage point drop in overall pass rates this year.
A source from the Ministry of Education confirmed the release of the results on Saturday (October 31).
This year’s HSC and equivalent examinations commenced on July 2. While the written examinations were scheduled to conclude on August 8, several exams under the Chittagong Education Board were postponed due to natural disasters. These postponed examinations were subsequently conducted at a later date.
A total of 1,270,583 examinees—including both regular and irregular candidates—participated in this year’s HSC and equivalent examinations. However, a significant number of candidates were recorded absent during the exams.
