Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Concert: Elevated Expressway Toll to be Waived

On December 21, a concert titled "Echoes of Revolution" is set to take place at Dhaka's Army Stadium to support the families of martyrs and the injured from the July-August uprising. The event is being organized by the "Spirits of July" platform and will feature performances by renowned Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, a celebrated artist from Pakistan will perform at the concert without charging any fees. Additionally, the stadium's rental fee has been waived by the Army for this event. In another supportive measure, the elevated expressway toll will be waived on the day of the concert.
Ticket sales for the concert have already started, with significant discounts offered to students. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the "July Shaheed Smrity Foundation", a welfare organization supporting the families of martyrs and injured individuals.
It has been reported that on December 21, no toll will be collected from vehicles on the Dhaka Elevated Expressway. From 2 pm to midnight, vehicles can access the expressway toll-free through four entry points: Banani, Army Golf Club, Airport, and Kuril Bishwa Road. However, motorcycles will not be included in this toll-free benefit.
To address traffic concerns and ease public movement, the Bangladesh Army has decided to open Jahangir Gate and Zia Colony Gate from 2 pm to 11 pm on the same day. During this period, these gates will only permit passage for ambulances, vehicles carrying patients, outbound travelers, and other emergency services.
Notably, apart from Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, the "Echoes of Revolution" concert will feature performances by popular Bangladeshi bands like Artcell, Chirkutt, Aftermath, and artists from Silsila. Additionally, well-known rap artists Shezan and Hannan will also perform at the event.

Ismail Hossain Jamaddar (40), the first husband of Bangladeshi actress Pori Moni, was killed in a high-speed truck accident on the Dhaka-Bhanga Expressway. The incident occurred early Friday (November 22) at Pachchor in Shibchar, Madaripur.
Ismail, the son of bank officer Zakir Hossain Jamaddar from Chhoto Shaula village in Mirukhali Union of Mathbaria Upazila, was a father of two.
According to Ismail’s uncle, Kabir Jamaddar, he was traveling to Dhaka on a motorcycle with his friend Monir on Thursday night. Early in the morning, a speeding truck hit their motorcycle from behind on the Dhaka-Bhanga Expressway, leaving both Ismail and Monir critically injured.
Locals rushed them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Ismail dead. Monir received initial treatment and was later transferred to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Pangu Hospital) in Agargaon.
Abdullah Al Mamun, an assistant teacher at Bhagirathpur Secondary School, stated that after divorcing Pori Moni, Ismail remarried and is survived by his wife and two children.

The fact that the viral photo card of Dipti was purposefully spread was revealed in an investigative report by the fact-checking department of the national daily 'Ajker Patrika'.
In that fact-check report, through various information and data, the issue of Dipti Chowdhury's family and her family's involvement with the Liberation War was revealed. The report said that Dipti's grandfather's house is in Ashtagram, Kishoreganj. Her father's name is Shibli Chowdhury. Dipti Chowdhury's grandfather's name is Nurul Islam Chowdhury, he was the chairman of Adampur Union Parishad of Ashtagram, Kishoreganj. During the Liberation War, Nurul Islam Chowdhury was one of the organizers of the Liberation War.
Since Nurul Islam Chowdhury's sister did not have any children, Dipti Chowdhury's father Shibli Chowdhury grew up with her. Later, they moved to Nasirnagar in Brahmanbaria with Shibli Chowdhury and started living there.
It is known that according to the information received, Shibli Chowdhury's two uncles (Nurul Islam Chowdhury's cousin) Qutub Uddin Chowdhury and Gias Uddin Chowdhury are government-certified freedom fighters. Among them, Qutub Uddin Chowdhury was an assistant teacher at Adampur Dewan Ali High School and is currently retired. Gias Uddin Chowdhury is deceased.
