With only one day remaining before the 2026 FIFA World Cup final between Spain and Argentina, the city of Guadalajara, Mexico, celebrated a unique fusion of love and football by hosting a massive group wedding.

On Friday, July 18, 750 couples participated in the mass wedding ceremony held at the FIFA Fan Festival grounds. This special event provided a platform for participants to celebrate both their passion for football and the beginning of a new chapter in their personal lives.

In addition to traditional wedding attire, many couples were seen wearing the jerseys of their favorite football clubs and the iconic green jerseys of the Mexican national team.

As the ceremonies concluded, the newlyweds exchanged vows and kisses, greeted by the applause and cheers of volunteers and spectators alike.

Expressing their joy, one local couple shared that they had been planning to marry for a long time but were waiting for the perfect opportunity. They expressed great happiness in being able to commemorate their special day amidst the fervor of the World Cup.

Another newlywed couple remarked that the event represented a union of their two greatest passions—their love for the sport of football and their commitment to their life partners.

As proud Mexicans, they emphasized their unwavering support for their national team.

According to the event’s organizing committee, a total of 750 couples registered to be legally wed on this special day. The festive atmosphere, bolstered by the presence of a large crowd, added a unique dimension to the World Cup celebrations in the city.
