Hollywood actress Selma Blair, known for her roles in Cruel Intentions and Hellboy, has been arrested in New York, United States.
The 54-year-old actress was detained late Sunday night (October 11) at John F. Kennedy International Airport, with Hindustan Times reporting that two assault charges were filed against her on Monday (October 12).
The charges stem from an incident aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to New York, where she was accused of injuring two flight attendants.
Representatives for the actress stated that she experienced severe medical distress during the flight.
According to the complaint, while Blair was being transported to a hospital strapped to a stretcher, she allegedly kicked a police officer multiple times in the face, neck, and chest, injuring him.
She was also accused of kicking a nurse in the chest on the way to the hospital.
Blair appeared in a Queens court on Monday, where she was arraigned on two counts of second-degree assault. She was seen crying in court while wearing handcuffs.
The judge set her bail at $20,000 cash or a $60,000 bond, with her next court appearance scheduled for January.

Defense attorney Sean Burns told the court that his client's behavior was not intentional.
He argued that the actress, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, had missed several doses of critical medication used to control neurological symptoms.
The attorney also noted that head trauma sustained on the plane and exhaustion from an overbooked work schedule left her disoriented.
The FBI is currently investigating the exact sequence of events aboard the flight.
Transcripts of air traffic control audio capturing a conversation with the pilot also referenced a passenger sustaining a head injury.
Previously, in 2016, Blair issued a public apology after losing consciousness on an airplane following a reaction to mixing medication with alcohol.
She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018 and has since become an active advocate for disability rights.
