The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has cancelled the licence of Ad-din Medical College Hospital in the capital’s Moghbazar neighborhood following the tragic deaths of six newborn babies.

The regulatory body announced the permanent revocation on Thursday afternoon after finding the hospital management's official explanation regarding the fatal incidents completely unsatisfactory.

Professor Dr. Prabhat Chandra Biswas, Director General of the DGHS, officially disclosed the government's decisive action during a press briefing.

The health regulator's move aligns with earlier statements from Health Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain, who openly expressed his discontent with the hospital's accountability measures.

"I was not satisfied with the explanation provided by the hospital authorities over the incident," Minister Husain had previously stated.

The closure comes amid mounting public scrutiny and calls for stringent safety oversight in private medical facilities across the capital.
