Six more children exhibiting symptoms of measles have died across the country in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of measles-related fatalities to 908, according to a press release issued by the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.

The health authority noted that while no deaths were registered from laboratory-confirmed measles during the latest 24-hour reporting period, all six recent fatalities were attributed to suspected cases.

With these latest deaths, the overall casualty count since March 15 has risen to 908 children, consisting of 99 confirmed measles deaths and 809 deaths involving suspected cases.

Additionally, health officials identified 80 new confirmed cases and 1,021 new suspected cases of measles over the same 24-hour timeframe.

Cumulative DGHS data reveals that a total of 142,797 suspected measles infections have been reported nationwide since March 15, with 17,880 of those cases officially confirmed through laboratory testing.
