Three additional children passed away after exhibiting symptoms consistent with measles over a 24-hour period ending at 8 am on Friday, pushing Bangladesh's aggregate mortality count from confirmed and suspected cases to 928 this year.

According to the latest figures provided by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), all three recent fatalities have been categorized as suspected measles deaths.

With these latest casualties, the nationwide tally of suspected measles deaths has risen to 829, while laboratory-confirmed deaths linked to the infection remain unchanged at 99.

Bangladesh Reports 3 More Measles-Related Deaths as Total Hits 925

Health authorities recorded 876 new suspected cases during the same 24-hour reporting window, elevating the total number of suspected infections identified nationwide to 147,591.

Concurrently, 64 new confirmed cases were verified, increasing the cumulative total of laboratory-validated infections to 18,208.

DGHS records further reveal that 128,825 patients presenting with suspected symptoms have required hospitalization across the country since March 15 this year, with 124,558 individuals successfully recovering and receiving discharge.
