The Israeli army had said it is returning to "enforcing" the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, after a series of what it called "significant strikes" against the Palestinian militant group.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the move is in line with directives from Israel's government.
The IDF warned that it would "forcefully respond" to any violation of the ceasefire.
Israel and Hamas have blamed each other on Sunday for violating the US-brokered ceasefire agreement.
More than a dozen dead in Gaza, Hamas authorities say
Gaza's Hamas-run Civil Defense agency has said at least 13 people have been killed in Israeli strikes on the enclave on Sunday.
Israel and Hamas have each accused the other of breaching the US-brokered ceasefire agreement.
The Israeli military said the strikes had taken place in response to "terrorists opening fire on (Israeli) forces," and that it targeted the Rafah area.
Israeli strikes also took place in other areas in the enclave, including the Muwasi area in Khan Younis and the Nuseirat refugee camp, located in central Gaza.
2 Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza, IDF says
Two Israeli soldiers were killed in the Gaza Strip Sunday morning, the Israeli military has said.
The incident took place in Rafah, which resulted in three other soldiers being injured, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
One of the three wounded soldiers was "severely" injured, the IDF said, adding that he had been evacuated to hospital for treatment.
More than 900 Israeli soldiers have been killed as part of the country's war in Gaza.
Over 68,000 Palestinians have been killed since Israel launched its military campaign in the enclave following a Hamas terror attack on October 7, 2023, including at least 33 people who were killed Sunday, according to Gaza's Hamas-run authorities.
