Firuzjon Sodiqov, Deputy Chair of Tajikistan’s Artificial Intelligence Council, has expressed high expectations for India’s role in the ongoing India AI Impact Summit 2026.

Speaking in New Delhi, Sodiqov lauded India’s rapid technological progress and voiced optimism for a landmark collaboration that could transform the Central Asian AI landscape.

Highlighting existing ties, Sodiqov noted that a Tajik company is already partnering with the Indian firm Yotta to develop hyperscale data centers in Tajikistan.

This joint venture is envisioned as a regional hub for AI infrastructure, applying Indian expertise to modernize Tajik services. A formal bilateral agreement covering various aspects of AI cooperation is expected to be signed during the summit.

The five-day event, hosted at Bharat Mandapam from February 16 to 20, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

It marks the first global AI summit held in the Global South, drawing an unprecedented gathering of world leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, alongside tech giants from Silicon Valley.

For Tajikistan, the summit represents a critical opportunity to shift from manual to AI-driven governance. Sodiqov emphasized that the primary goal is to leverage Indian-led innovation to improve the speed and quality of public services for citizens.

With over 20 countries represented, the summit aims to establish a global framework for inclusive and responsible sovereign AI.
