Erika Guevara-Rosas, Senior Director for Research, Advocacy, Policy, and Campaigns at Amnesty International, has issued an urgent call for the immediate suspension of all forms of military cooperation with Israel.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Guevara-Rosas asserted that Israel continues to commit grave human rights violations across various regions in defiance of international law.

She cited the ongoing genocide in Gaza, violence and illegal settlement expansion in the West Bank, apartheid, occupation, and recent military strikes in Lebanon causing mass displacement.

The Amnesty official warned that any continued military collaboration with Israel carries a significant risk of complicity in international crimes.

Addressing the Italian government specifically, Guevara-Rosas urged officials to take a stand in favor of suspending the EU-Israel Association Agreement and to initiate effective measures to this end.

She emphasized that rhetoric is no longer sufficient; states must take "real and decisive action" to halt human rights violations and genocide.
