No date has been set for the next round of Pakistan-brokered peace talks between Iran and the United States following the failure of the initial session, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister announced on Saturday.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in southern Türkiye, Saeed Khatibzadeh clarified that the two nations have yet to establish the necessary parameters for further dialogue.

"Until we agree on the framework, we cannot set the date," he stated.

The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that Tehran’s current priority is to establish a solid foundation for future discussions to avoid another breakdown in communication.

"Now we are focusing on finalising the framework of understanding between two sides," Khatibzadeh explained.

"We don't want to enter into any negotiation or meeting which is due to failure which can be pretext for another round of escalation."

The comments come amid a period of heightened regional sensitivity, with both sides seeking to avoid diplomatic missteps that could lead to a renewed increase in hostilities.
