Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, has asserted that the United States must abandon its tactics of "blackmail" and "ultimatums" if diplomatic talks with Iran are to move forward.

In a post shared on the social media platform X, Ulyanov criticized the American approach to diplomacy, suggesting that Washington remains overly reliant on the threat of military force and the imposition of crippling sanctions to drive negotiations.

"The US is accustomed to conducting negotiations through the use of force," Ulyanov wrote. "However, this will not work with Iran."

The Russian envoy further noted that the most effective path forward for the United States would be to move away from coercive measures. He concluded his post by highlighting three specific tactics the US should discard, using the hashtags: #Blackmail, #Ultimatums, and #Deadlines.

The statement comes amid ongoing international efforts to navigate the complex diplomatic landscape surrounding Iran's nuclear program and regional tensions.
