Two Bangladeshi expatriates were killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon on Monday. The victims were at their residence in the Zibdeen area of Nabatieh District when the attack occurred. Both deceased individuals hailed from Satkhira district in Bangladesh.

The victims have been identified as Shofiqul Islam and Nahidul Islam. Shofiqul was a resident of the Bhaluka Chandpur area in Satkhira Sadar, while Nahidul was from the Kadakati area in Ashashuni Upazila.

According to the Bangladesh Embassy in Lebanon, the airstrike took place around 12:00 PM on Monday, May 11, resulting in their immediate deaths at the scene. Their bodies were subsequently transported to a hospital in Nabatieh.

The Bangladesh Embassy expressed deep condolences over the deaths of the two expatriates and extended its sympathies to the bereaved families.

Embassy officials confirmed that they are currently coordinating the necessary formalities to repatriate the bodies to Bangladesh as soon as possible.
