Israel is establishing a dedicated military production facility to mass-produce "suicide drones" as it struggles to counter the escalating threat from Hezbollah’s unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), according to Israel Army Radio.

The decision comes in direct response to the significant challenges posed by Hezbollah’s explosive aircraft along Israel’s northern border and within southern Lebanon.

According to the report, these drone strikes have resulted in the deaths of several Israeli soldiers and civilians since the start of the current ceasefire, exposing vulnerabilities in existing defense protocols.

Military analysts noted that Hezbollah has increasingly deployed fiber-optic drones, which are notoriously difficult to detect and immune to standard electronic jamming.

These relatively low-cost drones have successfully penetrated Israel’s advanced air defense systems, frequently testing the limits of its highly sophisticated radar network.

The establishment of this new factory marks a strategic shift for the Israeli military as it seeks to bolster its own drone capabilities and achieve technical parity in the ongoing border conflict.

By scaling up domestic production of suicide drones, Israel aims to strengthen its offensive and defensive posture against the non-traditional aerial tactics utilized by Hezbollah.
