Israel has launched a retaliatory strike against Iran, according to official statements from both the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

State news agency IRNA reported that Israel utilized air-launched ballistic missiles to strike various targets inside Iranian territory.

Following the assault, explosions were reported in three major Iranian cities: Tehran, Tabriz, and Isfahan. Additionally, blasts were heard near the central city of Karaj.

According to Al Jazeera, at least two powerful explosions rocked Tehran, while at least three blasts were reported in Isfahan.

Airspace Closed Amid Precision Strikes
Prior to the reports of explosions, the Israeli military announced it was conducting airstrikes targeting specific military installations across western and central Iran.

Following the strikes, Iranian state media reported that all incoming flights to Tehran International Airport have been canceled. Operations at Imam Khomeini International Airport remain suspended until further notice.

The escalation comes immediately after Iran launched a missile barrage into Israel on Sunday, defying a ceasefire agreement brokered between Iran and the United States in early April.

The IRGC stated that its missile strike was in retaliation for Israel's continuous operations in Lebanon.

High Alert and Retaliation Cycles
The Israeli military noted that it had been placed on "high alert" on Sunday (June 7) following lethal airstrikes in the southern suburbs of Beirut, anticipating imminent rocket or missile fire toward Israel.

Shortly after the detection of the Iranian missile launches, incoming rocket sirens were activated across Haifa and several other regions in northern Israel, preceding the subsequent Israeli retaliatory strikes on Iranian soil.
