Saudi Arabia detained 14,165 people in a single week for violations of residency, border security, and labor laws, while 12,363 individuals were deported from the country during the same period.

Gulf News reported this information, citing data from the Saudi Ministry of Interior.

The arrests were made during joint nationwide security campaigns conducted from August 27 to September 2.

Among those detained, 7,121 violated residency laws, 3,636 breached border security regulations, and 3,408 violated labor laws.

Additionally, 1,315 individuals were apprehended while attempting to enter the kingdom illegally.

Of them, 58 percent were Ethiopian nationals, 41 percent Yemeni nationals, and 1 percent from other countries.

Another 42 people were arrested while attempting to exit the country illegally.

Authorities stated that among the detained individuals, 18,937 have been referred to their respective diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, while 3,240 others have been directed to complete departure formalities.

Furthermore, 21 people were arrested for transporting, sheltering, or employing illegal immigrants.

Currently, 29,733 expatriates are undergoing legal proceedings for various violations in Saudi Arabia, comprising 27,845 men and 1,928 women.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior issued a stern warning that anyone facilitating illegal entry, transporting, sheltering, or providing any form of assistance to violators faces up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to 1 million Saudi Riyals.

Vehicles and properties used to harbor or transport offenders are also subject to confiscation.
