Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has announced a two-day schedule of events to observe Independence and National Day.
According to a party press release, the programs will include a high-profile discussion meeting, the hoisting of the national flag and tributes at the National Mausoleum.
The observance will begin on March 25 with a discussion meeting at the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) starting at 3 pm.
Jamaat Ameer and Leader of the Opposition in the Jatiya Sangsad, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, is set to attend the event as the chief guest.
On March 26, the national flag will be formally hoisted at the Jamaat-e-Islami central office.
In coordination with the state program, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will also travel to the National Mausoleum in Savar during the morning hours to pay his respects to the martyrs of the Independence War.
Additionally, discussion meetings and doa mahfils (prayer sessions) will be held across all levels of the party organization to mark the occasion.
