Zaima Rahman Joins Students for Chat, Shares Personal Life Journey

Zaima Rahman, daughter of the Prime Minister, spent an engaging afternoon interacting with 90 school children from Kasba and Akhaura upazilas of Brahmanbaria. She called each child close to listen to their aspirations while sharing stories and dreams from her own life.

The interaction took place on Tuesday (June 16) at the Lakeshore Hotel in Gulshan, the capital, running from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The event was organized by Mehveen Rahman Munia, daughter of Mushfiqur Rahman, the Member of Parliament for the Brahmanbaria-4 constituency.

According to sources present at the gathering, Zaima Rahman inquired about the children's aspirations and emphasized that they should gain experiences in extra-curricular fields alongside their academic pursuits.

During the chat, Zaima Rahman reflected on various personal life experiences. She playfully asked the children if they knew how to cook. When a few answered in the affirmative, she asked what they would treat her to if she visited their neighborhood. The children promised to cook biryani for her, to which Zaima expressed her desire to have Hilsa fish alongside the biryani.

Nahian Osman Rahin, a third-grade student from Ramdhannagar Government Primary School in Akhaura, said excitedly, "I felt wonderful. I never imagined that the Prime Minister's daughter would come so close and chat with us. She advised us to play sports alongside our studies."

Jannatul Ferdous Babli, an assistant teacher who attended the event, noted, "The children had a wonderful time with the Prime Minister's daughter. She called each child near, listened to them, shared insights from her own life, and spoke of many dreams."

Dr. Daulat Hossain Bhuiyan, Akhaura Upazila Primary Education Officer, remarked, "The children were highly inspired by sitting down for a discussion with the Prime Minister's daughter. Personally, I am also delighted. She listened intently to the young students and shared her own experiences with them."

Commenting on the event, Akhaura Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Tapasi Rabeya said, "To be honest, we did not expect the Prime Minister's daughter to dedicate so much time and listen to every single child so patiently. This has deeply inspired the children."

The 48th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), founder by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, is tomorrow (Tuesday). Ziaur Rahman was the founding chairman of the party which began its journey on September 1, 1978. He was at the forefront of organizing BNP and led the party until he was killed by a group of disgruntled military personnel in 1981. To mark the anniversary, BNP announced a five-day programme. As part of the programme, Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will pay tributes to Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia by placing wreaths at their graves in the capital's Zia Udyan at 9am tomorrow. The party will also organise a fish fry releasing programme on a suitable date under the leadership of Joint Secretary General Habibun Nabi Khan Sohel. However, since her imprisonment in false cases in 2018, her son Tarique Rahman, now prime minister, served as the acting chairman of the party. After the demise of Begum Khaleda Zia last year (2025), her son Tarique Rahman took the helm of the party taking charge of the party chief.
