Presided over by Ministry of Religious Affairs Secretary M Kamal Uddin, the committee determined that the month of Rajab will conclude its 30-day cycle on Tuesday (January 20). Consequently, the holy month of Shaban (1447 Hijri) will officially commence on Wednesday (January 21).

The decision was finalized after the committee evaluated data and reports from district administrations, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the Space Research and Remote Sensing Organization (SPARRSO) and various Islamic Foundation offices across the country.

High-ranking officials, including the Director General of the Islamic Foundation and representatives from the Cabinet Division and Bangladesh Television, were in attendance to confirm the schedule.
