Marking the conclusion of the month-long dawn-to-dusk fasting of Ramadan, the day commenced with millions of devotees gathering at mosques and open fields (Eidgahs) to offer special prayers and seek divine blessings for the nation.

The capital’s primary congregation took place at the National Eidgah on the Supreme Court premises at 8:30 am, led by the Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, Mufti Muhammad Abdul Malek.

DSCC Administrator Abdus Salam confirmed that extensive arrangements, including newly installed ablution facilities and specific entry points, were implemented to ensure a smooth experience.

A separate gate through the Supreme Court premises was designated for VVIPs to manage the flow of attendees effectively.

Security remained a top priority, with a multi-layered coordination of Police, RAB, and other law enforcement agencies cordoning off the perimeter.

The Special Security Force (SSF) was also deployed to ensure the safety of high-profile dignitaries.

Meanwhile, at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, a series of five consecutive congregations were held between 7 am and 10:45 am, led by prominent Islamic scholars including Maulana Mizanur Rahman and Mufti Muhibbullahil Baqi Nadvi, to accommodate the vast influx of worshippers.

Another significant prayer was held at 8 am at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, where Members of Parliament and staff joined local devotees.

This year, the venue also featured separate prayer arrangements for women.

Following the conclusion of the prayers, the traditional scenes of "Kolakuli" (embracing) and the exchange of Eid greetings were witnessed across all venues, as the nation transitioned into a day of festivities, charity, and family gatherings.
