The official pilgrimage journey for Hajj 2026 commenced on April 18, with 4,457 Bangladeshi pilgrims reaching Saudi Arabia safely on the first day. This group includes both government-managed and private-sector travelers.

According to data from the Hajj portal as of Sunday (April 19):

• Government Management: 1,246 pilgrims
• Private Management: 3,211 pilgrims

Inaugural Flight Details
The first flight, Biman Bangladesh Airlines BG 3001, landed at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah with 416 pilgrims. They were welcomed by:

• Md. Delwar Hossain: Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia
• Md. Sakhawat Hossain: Consul General in Jeddah
• Kamrul Islam: Counselor of the Makkah Hajj Office

In total, 11 flights operated on the first day to transport the pilgrims:

• Biman Bangladesh Airlines: 6 flights (2,470 passengers)
• Saudi Airlines: 4 flights (1,557 passengers)
• Flynas Airlines: 1 flight (423 passengers)

On-Ground Support and Health Services
An IT Helpdesk is already fully operational in Saudi Arabia to assist pilgrims, providing approximately 275 services on the first day alone.

On the health front, authorities report that no pilgrims have required major medical intervention so far. The medical teams are closely monitoring the situation, with a particular focus on the welfare of elderly pilgrims to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience.
