Canada-India match abandoned due to rain, India at Super Eight

India confirmed the Super Eight by winning three consecutive matches in the World Cup. Rohit supposed to take the field against weak Canada in their last match of the group stage. However, the match was abandoned due to rain. In this, India will enter the Super Eight field from being undefeated in the group stage.

India was scheduled to play against Canada at 8:30 PM Bangladeshi time on Saturday (June 15), but the rain started before the match. As a result, there was no toss. In the end, the umpire declared the match abandoned.

India participated in the Super Eight by becoming group champions with 3 wins and 1 draw from Group A. Rohit-Kohli defeated Ireland in the first match and Pakistan in the second match. After defeating the United States, India secured the Super Eight.

On the other hand, Canada got only one win in the group stage. They started the World Cup losing with USA. Then Canada made a comeback by defeating Ireland. Canada ended the World Cup with a loss to Pakistan and 1 point against India in the last two matches.
