
High-flying Bangladesh U-17 national football team maintained their winnig run in the ongoing AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2026 qualification beating Bahrain by 2-1 goals in their penultimate match of the six-team Group A at Tongliang Long Stadium, Chongqing, China on Friday.
After a barern first half, Bangladesh's Bayzit broke the deadlock in the 59th minute after an attempt, taken by Sabbir, came to his way while his teammate Manik doubed the lead with a perfect long-range shot off a cross from Faysal to make the score line 2-0.
Bahrain's Hossain Zubair reduced the margin scoring a lone goal for Bahrain in the 85th minute.
Bangladesh will play their crucial last group match against host China on November 30.
Earlier, Bangladesh made a flying start in the tournament crushing Timor-Leste by 5-0 goals. They thrashed Brunei by 8-0 goals, Sri Lanka by 5-0 goals in their other two matches.
Seven group champions will secure places in the 16-team finals, joining hosts Saudi Arabia and eight other nations who have already qualified for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
