A vibrant and colorful rally was held in the capital on Monday to mark National and International Sports Day 2026.

Organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the event brought together athletes, sports organizers, and government officials to celebrate the unifying power of athletics and physical culture.

The procession, led by State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque, commenced at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the morning.

After parading through major city thoroughfares, the rally concluded at the National Sports Council premises.

Participants included employees from the Department of Youth Development, the National Sports Council, and the Sports Directorate, alongside a large contingent of players from various national federations.

Speaking to the media following the event, State Minister Aminul Haque emphasized that sports are essential not only for physical fitness but also for fostering strong social bonds.

He highlighted the critical role that athletic engagement plays in building a healthy, productive, and drug-free society.

The Minister further noted that sports serve as a unique platform free from social or political divisions.
