Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka each scored a brace, while Jude Bellingham, Anthony Gordon, and Morgan Rogers also found the back of the net as England delivered a dominant 7-0 thrashing of Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.
Playing away in Rijeka on Saturday (October 3), Thomas Tuchel's side exerted total control from the outset. With this victory, England secured their second win in their first three matches of the group stage, marking the largest win of Tuchel's tenure so far.
England opened the scoring in just the 8th minute. Jude Bellingham collected a precise pass from debutant Alex Scott, and following a brilliant through-ball, Harry Kane slotted home from 10 yards out.
Bellingham doubled the lead in the 21st minute. Culminating a magnificent 27-pass build-up, Saka's cross was initially deflected, but Anthony Gordon controlled the ball in mid-air and sent it back into the box, where Bellingham neatly nudged it into the net.
Gordon added England's third in the 39th minute, rising to meet a precise cross from Jarerell Quansah with a brilliant header from six yards out. This marked Gordon's fourth goal in his last four appearances for England.
Just before halftime, England struck again. Peneartrating the defense of 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia, Bellingham delivered the ball to Saka, who easily tucked it home to complete his brace and send England into the break with a commanding 4-0 lead.
England maintained their relentless pressure in the second half. Kane netted his second in the 53rd minute, sprinting onto an Anderson cross to finish with a sliding effort. Saka scored his second in the 68th minute, capitalizing on another defensive error by the hosts following a pass from Kane.
The seventh and final goal arrived in the 87th minute through substitute Morgan Rogers. Collecting a pass from Bellingham, Rogers rounded Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic before sliding the ball into the empty net.
Bellingham orchestrated much of the rout, directly contributing to three of England's seven goals with a stellar individual performance in midfield.
The emphatic victory significantly strengthens England's position in the race to secure a place in the Nations League quarterfinals, which will take place next March if they finish among the top two teams in their group.
