The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the names of three vice-captains to accompany the three different captains currently leading the national team across the three formats. Saif Hassan is the new face among the appointees.
The Bangladesh national cricket team is currently being led by three separate captains:
Test Cricket: Najmul Hossain Shanto holds the leadership, a role he will maintain until 2027. His assistant in this format will be Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
ODI Cricket: The Tiger all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz is in charge of the One-Day International format. Miraz was confirmed as the ODI team captain for one year in June of this year. For the 50-over format, the BCB has appointed Shanto as his assistant.
T20 Cricket: Litton Kumar Das is in charge of the T20 International format, and he has been given the captaincy until the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup. Saif Hassan will serve as his assistant in this format. Saif earned this responsibility based on his eye-catching performance in the shortest format recently.
