In observance of 'International Democracy Day' on Tuesday, September 17, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will organize rallies and processions across various divisional cities, including Dhaka. The main rally is set to take place in front of the party's central office in Nayapaltan, the heart of the capital. Party leaders and supporters will join in mass processions to mark the occasion across major cities.

The Nayapaltan rally is scheduled to commence at 2:30 p.m., with the party's acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, serving as the chief guest. Though not physically present, he will address the crowd virtually. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will preside over the event, with speeches from several standing committee members and senior leaders.

In other divisional cities, BNP standing committee members will lead the processions as chief guests.

Initially, the rally was planned for September 15 but was postponed to September 17 due to adverse weather conditions. The new date was confirmed during an emergency press conference held on the night of September 14, where BNP Standing Committee member, Professor Dr. A Z M Zahid Hossain, made the official announcement.
