To prioritize Hajj flights, state-owned carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines has temporarily suspended flights on the Dhaka-Sylhet-Manchester route.

The announcement was made in a press release issued by Biman on Wednesday (January 29).

According to the statement, due to aircraft shortages and to ensure smooth Hajj operations, flights on this route will be suspended from May 1 to July 10. Regular twice-weekly flights on the Dhaka-Sylhet-Manchester route will resume as usual from July 11, following the completion of Hajj operations.

Biman also stated that tickets for flights from July 11 onward will be available for purchase through Biman sales counters, its website, mobile apps, and all other distribution channels.

Passengers who have already purchased tickets for the Dhaka-Sylhet-Manchester or return flights scheduled between May 1 and July 10 will be eligible for a full refund without any additional charges. Alternatively, they can reschedule their flights free of cost, subject to seat availability.

Additionally, passengers can opt to switch their Manchester-bound tickets to Biman’s London route at no extra cost, with the same option available for return flights.
