Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday officially inaugurated a massive training programme aimed at equipping college teachers across the country with technical and job-oriented education skills.

The Prime Minister formally launched the initiative at 11:25 am by pressing a button on a laptop during a grand ceremony held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in the capital.

Organized by the National University (NU), the nationwide training drive centers around the theme, “We will take job-oriented education, we will work around the world.”

The project is meticulously designed to develop 12,000 college teachers nationwide into highly skilled educators capable of delivering modern, market-driven lessons.

To mark the occasion, NU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Amanullah presented a memorial memento and a tree sapling to the Prime Minister.

The event commenced with a special documentary screening that highlighted the life, works, and contributions of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The iconic patriotic track, "Prothom Bangladesh Amar, Shesh Bangladesh; Jibon Bangladesh Amar, Moron Bangladesh," resonated as the background score for the documentary.

The inaugural session featured insightful speeches from Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon, the Prime Minister’s Adviser for Education Mahdi Amin, and NU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Amanullah.

Under this groundbreaking new curriculum, college students will eventually receive training in high-income, modern fields, including freelancing, entrepreneurship development, digital marketing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and data science.

To guarantee the success of this advanced coursework, a core group of 900 master trainers has already been fully prepared to train the 12,000 teachers in successive phases across the country.
