The United States Embassy in Dhaka has officially launched 'America Week 2026'-- a week-long, multi-city celebration marking the 250th anniversary of American independence.
The country-wide festival is part of the "Freedom 250" initiative.
According to a press release issued by the Embassy on Tuesday, the seven-day event will span across major Bangladeshi cities, including Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet and Rajshahi, aiming to bring American culture, history and core values directly to local communities.
US Ambassador Brent T. Christensen will lead the celebrations, which feature a diverse lineup of public events.
Among the signature highlights of America Week 2026 are the "Freedom 250 Concerts," featuring live performances by the U.S. Army’s 25th Infantry Division Brass Band.
In the capital, residents can visit the American Fair hosted at Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed Park, while a special Founders Museum exhibit is scheduled to launch in Sylhet.
The embassy promises many more interactive and exciting events across the country throughout the week to honor this landmark historic milestone.
