Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, commenced his official duties at Bangabhaban on Tuesday, receiving his inaugural ceremonial salute and conducting his first formal engagements after assuming charge.
Upon arriving at the presidential palace around 11:15 am, he was greeted at Main Gate No. 2 by an elite detachment of the horse-mounted President Guard Regiment (PGR), which escorted him to the parade grounds.
As part of the official welcoming protocol, a smartly presented PGR unit accorded him a formal Guard of Honour, accompanied by ceremonial tunes performed by a joint military band representing the Army, Navy and Air Force.
Following the military honors, high-ranking officials—including President’s Military Secretary Major General A S M Bahauddin, Public Division Secretary Khan Md Nurul Amin, Press Secretary Md Sarwar Alam, and Assistant Military Secretary Brigadier General Mohammad Raisul Islam—formally welcomed the Acting President with floral bouquets at Bangabhaban's Octagonal.
Hafiz Uddin Ahmad subsequently proceeded to his executive office to interact with senior officials, where the Military Secretary and Public Division Secretary provided him with an initial briefing on Bangabhaban's operations.
