Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humaiun Kobir today (Monday) urged Lithuania to recruit more skilled workers from the country and establish a visa centre in Dhaka to facilitate visa processing for Bangladeshi citizens.

He made the call when Lithuania's non-resident Ambassador to Bangladesh Diana Mickeviciene paid a courtesy call on him at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon, said a foreign ministry's press release here.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations, expansion of trade and investment, cooperation in education and information technology, exchange of skilled human resources and establishment of a Lithuanian visa centre in Dhaka.

Highlighting Bangladesh's pool of skilled and trained human resources, Humaiun urged Lithuania to recruit more skilled workers from Bangladesh.

He also requested the Lithuanian side to establish a visa centre in Dhaka to make the visa application process easier for Bangladeshi citizens.

The Foreign Affairs Adviser appreciated the continued engagement and cooperation between Bangladesh and Lithuania and underscored the potential for further expanding bilateral ties.

The Lithuanian Ambassador expressed her country's interest in further broadening cooperation with Bangladesh in the education sector.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Bangladesh-Lithuania bilateral relations and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
