Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi on Monday emphasized the need to strengthen business-to-business relations between the two neighboring nations, noting that political dynamics will proceed on their own track.

"Let us have business-to-business together. Politics will continue in its own way, but it is our responsibility to deliver what people deserve. I have no doubt that the future is very positive. Let things take their own time, and let us work together for the people of both countries," Dinesh Trivedi told reporters at the Secretariat following a meeting with Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir.

Underlining mutual respect in bilateral relations, the High Commissioner stated that Bangladesh is a vibrant, sovereign, and independent nation, just like India.

"Nobody is big and nobody is small. We are all equals, and we have to work on that footing," the Indian envoy noted.

Highlighting the fundamental connection between regional stability and economic growth, Dinesh Trivedi stated that economic prosperity naturally follows when peace is assured.

"I think it is the responsibility of both countries to ensure peace and prosperity for the young generation," he remarked, adding that ordinary citizens primarily seek peace alongside the basic necessities of life.

Citing Mahatma Gandhi, the envoy urged leadership on both sides to evaluate every policy decision by its impact on the most disadvantaged populations.

Dinesh Trivedi also stressed the importance of exploring joint-venture business opportunities within Bangladesh, including potential projects targeted in border regions.

Reiterating the role of economic and human connections, the High Commissioner recalled his recent comments at a reception where he highlighted how the private sector plays a key role in narrowing gaps between nations.

"No government in the world can provide everything. It always needs the private sector," he said, expressing gratitude to the business communities in both India and Bangladesh.
