President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday performed 'Ziarat' at the revered shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and Hazrat Shahparan (RA) immediately following his arrival in Sylhet as part of an official itinerary.

The president reached the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) at approximately 12:30 pm, where he spent time reciting Tasbih and paying his respects.

Subsequently, he traveled by motorcade to the shrine of Hazrat Shahparan (RA).

After concluding his prayers and Ziarat at the second shrine, the president headed back to the Sylhet Circuit House.

Earlier in the day, he touched down at Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 11:27 am, proceeding directly from the terminal to the Circuit House to receive a formal guard of honour.

Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury, alongside local members of parliament, political leaders, and civil administration officials, welcomed the president upon his arrival at the airport.

Later in the afternoon, the president is slated to participate in a civic reception hosted by the Sylhet City Corporation.

Security arrangements across Sylhet have been significantly heightened in connection with the presidential tour.

The president is scheduled to conclude his visit and depart for Dhaka from Osmani International Airport Tuesday night.
