State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit inaugurates Titas-28 Saturday, connecting it immediately to the national grid. BGFCL General Manager for Operations Engineer Md Ashraful Alam notes that this integration directly mitigates import reliance strain.
Drilling for Titas-28, sunk to approximately 13,000 feet under an 800 crore Taka initiative covering Titas-28, 29, 30, and Kamta-2, wrapped up about a month ago, according to project director Engineer AKM Jasim Uddin.
Secondary development and deep exploration work targets a cumulative 67.5 million cubic feet peak daily yield across five boreholes.

Titas-29 finishes primary drilling with logging underway, production-ready in 45 days, yielding 10 to 15 million cubic feet daily.

Department director Md Mahmudul Nawab expects completion in two to three months barring geological hurdles, yielding approximately 15 million cubic feet daily and potentially unlocking an estimated 2 trillion cubic feet in new reserves pending multi-level post-drilling tests adding to existing Titas estimated reserves of 1.5 trillion cubic feet.
Bakhrabad-11 deep well drilling targets 4,500 metres subject to a variation of 100 metres, slated to follow Titas-31 completion, projected to supply approximately 10 million cubic feet daily upon successful testing.
Combined daily output from wells 29, 30, and 31 reaches up to 45 million cubic feet, bringing total prospective injections from the five wells to roughly 67.5 million cubic feet daily over the next three to four months.
